About Meriam Njah
A Therapist based in Minneapolis
Hi! I’m Meriam Njah.
I’m passionate about understanding the seemingly complex things in life, like healing and relationships, and helping you do the same, in a way that is simple.
In particular, I have a special heart for biracial couples, and marginalized populations.
Having grown up in a first generation immigrant family, hustling and surviving often took priority on the list of things to figure out. Things like relationships, emotions, and human connection did not. And so I drawn to figure them out.
How my passion developed
My curiosity started with the basic premise of figuring out how humans work, and so I took all the classes that I was able to take, read all the books I was able to read, and took all the trainings I can afford throughout college (while collecting a few college degrees along the way) to figure it all out.
I found that most of things that I learned (such as what makes a relationship work and what doesn’t) were simple, but things that I did not know intuitively, given that I grew up without them.
What I learned
I also found, that this was especially true for those of us with marginalized identities.
This is not because there is something inherently wrong with us, but because many of us had so much stacked against us.
For many of us, life and the hustle got in the way of developing the things that comes naturally to us, like feeling okay, or how to be in a relationship. That sometimes therapy was needed, but sometimes it was much simpler than that.
How I help others
I work with couples who are who are stuck in an unhappy relationship but won’t settle for a normal relationship. The couples who want more for themselves out of a relationship.
I work with individuals who are tired from not being okay, and believe in the possibility of finding their way back to okayness. The individuals who will bet on themselves and dare to see themselves worthy of leading a wholehearted life.
I help you find your way back to living a life that you love. A life rooted in connection and belonging and ease.
